Matthew Tolentino is the Founder and CEO of Namatad Inc. and an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Washington. He leads the Intelligent Platform & Architecture Research Lab at UW that focuses on system-level research to embed intelligence into cost and compute-constrained devices at the network edge. He founded and leads Namatad Inc. to commercialize a localization and situational awareness system he designed to help improve the operational visibility of firefighters, law enforcement, and warfighters during emergency response events. Dr. Tolentino spent 15 years at Intel in numerous technical roles leading the development of advanced features within Intel CPUs, chipsets, and servers.  Dr. Tolentino is a veteran of the US Navy where he worked in the Office of the Secretary of the Navy and the Navy’s Office of Organization, Management, and Infrastructure team within the Pentagon.  Dr. Tolentino holds a B.S. from the University of Maryland, an M.S. from the University of Washington, and a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech, all in Computer Science.
