Building Little Free Libraries

This summer, Project Child Success and Rotary Club of Tacoma # 8 participated in United Way’s Day of Action to build Little Free Libraries. This program supports Graduate Tacoma’s early learning initiative by promoting children’s access to reading materials within their communities.
A group of motivated volunteers built 11 Little Free Libraries to be placed near Jennie Reed and Whitman elementary schools. Tacoma 8 installed the first of these libraries in the neighborhood. More libraries will be installed in the coming months.
Do you live or work near one of these schools and would like to host a Little Free Library in front of your house, apartment, or business? If so, you could become a Little Free Library steward. Click here for information about becoming a steward.
